The Athens Community Arts & Music Festival is This August 3rd!

Looking for a fun summer activity that highlights the community, culture and talent of our little corner of Ohio? Head down to Union Street this August 3rd for one of Athens’ free pop-up festivals! We’ve got Boogie on the Bricks in June, and now The Athens Community Arts & Music Festival in August. Boogie is a great chance to have an adult version of an OU Fest with local musicians, and the ACAMF is a great way to experience the artists, craftspeople and emerging musical acts in the area.

This year’s musical lineup includes several artists from right here in Athens:

  • Adam Remnant – Appalachian folk-rock artist
  • The Laughing Chimes – jangly post-punk band
  • Swing Big – bluesy, jazzy acoustic duo
  • Ivy Pierce – a local band so up and coming you can’t find anything about them, Ivy Pierce is a Stuart Opera House feature and member of the 2024 AMP showcase.
  • Exit 191 – another local sleeper, Exit 191 hasn’t been on the scene long, but they’re fast becoming a local fave and were featured at last year’s ACAMF.

As well as other regional and national artists we’re excited to see:

  • Guided by Voices – indie rock band from Dayton
  • Braniac – indie rock band from Dayton
  • Shilpa Ray – punk experimental artist from Brooklyn
  • Heather Redman & The Reputation – vintage Midwestern indie rock collab from Dayton
  • Lung – punk cello-core two-piece band from Cincinnati
  • Shilpa Ray – punk experimental artist from Brooklyn
  • Gardener – alt rock band from Seattle

The whole event will be ASL interpreted. Check out their website to learn more!
