It’s almost Fall, y’all! Athens might be known among Ohio college culture as the destination for Halloween, but that’s not nearly all we’ve got going on. And of course, there’s more to Autumn than the ubiquitous Starbucks PSL.
Fest season is wild every year. From riots to couch burning, houses with front yards turn to mud pits from hundreds of shoes mixing with Athens’ springtime rains. Every year, dozens of students get fined or arrested for getting too ratchet to be in public.
Winter break is probably the quietest time of the year here. Court Street at night is all lit-up for the holidays, and it’s beautiful, but noticeably bereft of the usual throngs of students bar-hopping and having fun.
