Everybody loves being in love, and college relationships tend to be hot and heavy, not to mention, fun! You’ve always got a buddy to eat with, Netflix-and-chill with, party uptown with…. and hopefully study with. And it’s exciting when you’re done with the dorms and ready to move on to off-campus housing for OU students.
Some people look for apartments when they want to rent near uptown Athens, and some people look for houses. There’s a bit more to an 8-bedroom rental house than a 3-bedroom apartment unit, and you want to ensure you make the choice that’s best for you and your friends. You can find the nicest house to rent in the best location – like North Congress or Washington Streets – but if it’s falling down around you, your roommates are crap, and your landlord is more of a slumlord, that nice house will be more of a nightmare than a home.
Some of us like living alone. But that doesn’t mean we don’t still want to be in the middle of all the Athens, Ohio University action that happens uptown. Yeah, you might want to go home to silence and solace at the end of the night, but you still want an apartment near the bars for easy access to friends and parties. And, of course, you want your apartment uptown because it’s also close to campus.
